North Korean Missile-Rocket Fails - Condemnation Follows |

Van, Texas - The attempt to put a a satellite into space by North Korea has failed, say U.S. and South Korean officials.
A U.S. military statement says that two stages of the rocket/missile had ended up landing in the Pacific Ocean, while North Korean officials claimed that the satellite had successfully been placed in orbit around earth and was transmitting data.
Condemnation calls came from around the world as most think the launch had been a cover up for an intercontinental missile test.
“Refrain from further provocative actions” said B. Obama.
“North Korea broke the rules once more by testing a rocket that could be used for a long range missile,” Obama told a crowd in Prague, the Czech capital. “This provocation underscores the need for action, not just this afternoon at the U.N. security council, but in our termination to prevent the spread of these weapons.” he goes on to say.
The United Nations Security Council has approved an emergency session that had been requested by Japanese officials.
The U.S., Japanese and south Korean governments all agree that the launch is in full violation of the Security Council resolution 1718, adopted in October 2006. The resolution bans North Korea from testing ballistic missiles.
“We have a real problem here. North Korea had earlier tested a missile and even carried out a nuclear test and I don’t think any talking is going to help us.” says a local news viewer.
