19,000 Civilians Die In Iraq Since January 2014

Nearly 19,000 civilians were killed in Iraq between January 2014 and October 2015 — a toll the United Nations calls “staggering” in a new report.

The report, released Tuesday, outlines the horrific impact Iraq’s ongoing conflict is having on its civilian population.

The numbers are mind-boggling. In the 21-month period:

At least 18,802 civilians were killed, about half of them in Baghdad alone.

Another 36,245 were wounded.

About 3.2 million people were internally displaced, including a million school-aged children.

The actual figures could be much higher, the report said.

North Korean Nuclear Test Has Caused A Seismic Event

A North Korean nuclear test has caused a seismic event in an area in the northeast of the reclusive country. Three previous nuclear tests, in 2006, 2009 and 2013, were conducted in the region.

A televised North Korean statement confirmed the test was a hydrogen bomb test. The test took place at 10 a.m. local time.

The USGS, which measured the event at a magnitude of 5.1, said it occurred 19 kilometers (12 miles) east-northeast of Sungjibaegam.

The United Nations Security Council will hold a meeting Wednesday to discuss North Korea’s claim that it has successfully tested a hydrogen bomb, two diplomats told CNN.

The United States and Japan requested the session, a diplomat said.

Russia, China, Cuba and Ecuador Violating Human Rights With Veto Powers?

Russia, China, Cuba and Ecuador have vetoed past and are against future sanctions, resolutions or actions to stop Syria from killing innocent people. Men, women and children have been subjected to sexual violence, medical malfeasance, gross and systematic violations of human rights by Syrian government forces but nothing has been done to stop it because of those countries. Russia and China have used their veto power at the UN Security Council to block a U.S. and western backed resolution condemning the Syrian regime’s violent crackdown on protests where Cuba and Ecuador do not.

“This has been going on long enough!” says a passer-by when told how long this has been going on. They actually didn’t even know about what had been going on in Syria. When explained to them about the protests, how and why people were being killed by the government, and about this vote, they were shocked. They were even more shocked to know that this had been going on for so long than anything.

Should the free world listen to those whom have no real experience in freedom?
No. That would be like the blind leading the one who has vision. In reviewing history, Russia, China, Cuba or Ecuador have no real experience in freedom and/or human rights.

Russia says they are a democracy, but the specter of every day life is more or less still being controlled like a communist state. You can’t speak out against any regime in power or Putin suffer somehow for it. The only reason we even heard about the “BOOing of Putin” after that boxing match was because someone uploaded it to the Internet, after that the Russian media relaxed any restrictions and went with it. Every time we turn around, the Russian government takes control of another industry.

Cuba is still buddy-buddy with Russia just like they were during the well known Cuban nuclear missile crisis. Cuba still has a communist government no matter what brother is at the helm. They can relax restrictions on sale of cars and property but that a real long way from being experienced in freedom.

China, a well known communist state that is a cancer to their citizens and international society, markets, and moral values such as willful blindness. Can’t speak out on that government or suffer false tax bills and jail time and then extraordinary fines.

Ecuador is on dope, they listen to the man. It seems Ecuador’s hands are tied at the moment. With their economy in shambles and an illegal drugs trade problem they can’t fight, they are more than likely following the lead of the other three. Ecuador is seething with who ever wants to come into their country. They virtually have no border restrictions, and anyone with a printer can get into the country.

China, Cuba, Ecuador or Russia do not have the well being of citizens, values or human rights of those citizens of the United States, Western countries and/or Syria in mind with their vetoes.

A Really Great Recent Example of just how it is a crime to allow abuse:
Recently, a well known college football coach was sacked because it had been suspected that he knew and turned a blind eye while another assistant coach sexually abused individuals and he could possibly have criminal charges brought against him for neglecting the fact that he knew about what was going on. It is illegal to let someone or some organization abuse individuals. So when the coach or who ever did turn a blind eye to what was happening, they broke the law.

So when individuals or an organization such as but not limited a governments turn a blind eyes to crimes such as sexual abuse or the infractions currently taking place in Syria, that in it’s self is a crime and therefore should be leveled against those nations that they are doing so.

More than 4,000 Syrians have been killed by Syrian military forces. Why are we even asking China, Cuba, Ecuador or Russia? What would they do to stop any actions against Syria? Nothing, because they would look just plain wrong. Like Hillary Clinton just recently said about Burma, “We aren’t married to them, this is like a first date.” If history makes any difference, Russia, China, Cuba and or Ecuador has never been on any marriage certificate either. No marriage certificate has been filed for any other country with veto power in the U.N.

What is with these governments? From recent and less recent experiences with all four of these countries with in the specter of the United Nations, on every turn they have let things go on such as this crisis with Syria and with the Iranian nuclear crisis. Every time we want to stop some dictator from killing innocent people, we always have to wait until something really bad happens and it’s not right. So why don’t we all just elect to to hold Russia, China, Cuba and Ecuador responsible for the countless current and past deaths from past wars.

If the syrian Government did have a real problem with insurgents like Iraq was seething with and who caused so much destruction, they would indeed let reporters and human rights organizations into the nation to see what is going on for the whole world to see. However, Syria has not let such personnel inside their borders therefore, we have nothing but to believe that Syrian officials are infringing on human rights.

If you live in China, Cuba, Ecuador or Russia, you should find a way to leave those countries as what is going on in Syria, can and may happen to you at any time. Not very tempting. Image walking around your village in Syria, next thing you know your being tackled, beat down, raped and jailed for no reason if not shot just because the guy down the street is protesting something. An even better example is that if they let Syria get away with this much; How much will them their selves do to their citizens.

Are your human rights violated when one government vetoes an action that would save lives by stopping another government from killing innocent people? Aren’t Russia, China, Cuba and Ecuador infringing on the human rights of the innocent Syrian people?

Seriously, this in-action is deadly and innocent people are dying all of the time. If you are un-happy about this like 99% of the world is, call or fax your local government officials and let them know. Let them know that they shouldn’t be letting Russia, China, Cuba and Ecuador get away with their violation of human right by their vetoes in the U.N. and Human Rights bodies.

How many people have to die because of 4 virtually non-free countries? That’s right. Bet’s could be placed that if you lived in Russia, China, Cuba and Ecuador and you and your buddies went to protesting every day, you’d start dropping like flies and treated just like the Syrian government treats it’s citizens. Be Warned and Beware Russia, China, Cuba and Ecuador Citizens. This could be you.

R.I.P. to the folks who only wanted freedom and have died for that cause. Curse those who let people die for whatever political reason.
