North Texans Require More Privacy And Security From Crime

With crime on the increase from Dallas, Texas To Tyler, Texas more North Texans are installing automated gates and privacy fences than at this same time last year. In some smaller cities in North East Texas, metal theft, yard ornaments and basically everything not nailed down is being stolen, even yard rakes and believe it or not, ceramic gnomes. There have also been many cases of dog knapping. All of the theft crime has spurred home and business owners to build stronger and more private fencing and security gate systems to rely on.

James Thornton says, “I had felt so unsafe knowing that my family was sleeping right on the other side of the window that the thief was on, when they took my push mower, so I had a new auto gate installed with a privacy fence to keep the preying eyes from knowing what they can steal.” and he goes on to say “I haven’t had any more trouble sense, I don’t even have to worry about if my dog is out in the street now either. I’m much happier knowing my family is safe.” After having a look at the fence and gate he had installed, he was secure, and it was nice. The fence was a beautiful rustic looking wrought iron with a matching gate that you would never know was automated until you saw it move by itself.

Right down the road from there, we find a hardware store and we ask them if security equipment sales has increased sense last year and the nice young attendant told us that they were out of most privacy and chain link fencing and had been bought out of barbed wire fencing completely which was not a surprise as we were in the middle of nowhere and everywhere you looked you saw cows and horses fenced in with wood and barbed wire.

After milling around the old hardware store for a while that seemed to be filled to the ceiling with goods, we took off and made our way to the local police department. Officer Bill Ford was there and we asked him what the deal was with all the theft crime around North East Texas? Well Mr. Ford looked at us, then looked down at his desk and took a deep breath and said, “Well, you have two or three thing going on around here. You have the economy and no jobs for people that seems to be picking up a bit, next you have the drug users that steal anything for a high, and then you have the local teens who have some kind of fetish with yard Gnomes.” we all had a laugh, then he said “yeah, about the only thing you can do is try to make everything more secure or take the chance that your belonging may not be there when you wake up or come home from work, much less keeping your family safe.” After sitting there for a few more minutes and finding out that there are many police agencies are having all of the same problems and they didn’t know how they were going to fight the crime with all of the cuts in spending cities are having to cut while making their budgets.
